Are You Slipping or Falling Down?
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she fell in and couldn't get out.
When you slip on something you might fall down, get a
little banged up, brush yourself off, and get back up
again, sometimes with help.
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she fell in and couldn't get out.
When you "slip up" and regress back to old habits or
ways you generally admit it and then promise yourself
you'll do better next time and sometimes you do and some
things you might seek support so you don't "slip up"
again.
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she fell in and couldn't get out.
When you fall down sometimes you need help getting back
up, like a baby learning to walk someone is near by to
help the child get back up, get balanced and they
attempt to walk again.
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she fell in and couldn't get out because
there was no one near by to help her out.
Of course letting ourselves "slip up", "fall off the
wagon", or fall into the big black hole of "no getting
out" is a choice.
Yes, that's right, it's our choice. We consciously
choose to do the things we do and many of those choices
are causing us to sabotage ourselves.
Let's look at some examples:
When a person is overweight because they eat too much
they have a problem and they choose food to mask the
problem instead of discovering the solution to the
problem. And many do think food is the solution; however
we know that's not true. Sure food will give them
comfort - short lived of course. Then they beat
themselves up or eat more when they could choose to get
help and support.
When a person has too much stuff in their spaces and
continues to shop, bring more stuff in, and pile it up
they have a problem - a problem they think will get
resolved with surrounding themselves with more things.
This is their choice.
When a person is "running around like a chicken with its
head cut off", their days filled with endless tasks and
errands, leaving no time to relax or enjoy life - this
again is their choice.
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she saw the hole and she chose to fall
in.
So now that you've got the picture ask yourself what
choices have you been making in all areas of your life
that are causing you to slip, slide and fall down in
life?
If you only had to pick one area to choose to change
once and for all what would that be?
Whatever it is in your life that you want to change you
must make a conscious choice, take action, and sometimes
get some support.
One day a woman was walking down the street that had a
big black hole, she saw the hole and she chose to walk
around it!
